Common questions about our classes

Are your meditation classes free?

Yes, always. Meditation is your own inner treasure. The Adelaide Sri Chinmoy Centre offers free meditation classes as a community service.

Do I have to come to all classes when it is a series?

Other than special events, we generally offer four classes in a row over four weeks. Each session builds upon the last and you will receive maximum benefit from attending all the classes in a series. We aim to work together and the group dynamic develops as we go.

It is fine if you can not make it to the first class and can only begin in the second week. If you have not been able to attend by the third class, you may prefer to wait for the next series of classes.

Just call on 0478 366 000 if you have any questions about attending classes.

Do I need to bring a yoga mat or pillow?

No. We sit on chairs for all of our classes. Just dress comfortably for the season and bring a water bottle if you wish.

Do you have any books about meditation?

Yes, we have a range of affordable and inspiring books by Sri Chinmoy and his students about meditation and the spiritual life available for purchase.

Can children come to your meditation classes?

As long as they are happy to remain still and silent for the duration of a 20 minute meditation exercise children are welcome to attend if accompanied by a responsible guardian.

I am looking for more than four classes

Continuing meditation classes are available after completing a set of four classes. We will discuss this with the group at the final session in the series.

Staying in touch

When you register to attend meditation classes we ask for your phone number so we can send you a confirmation of your booking and a reminder before the first class. After the first class we also send out links to some of the exercises we have done which you can download if you wish.

If the Adelaide Sri Chinmoy Centre is offering special events, such as international guest presenters for meditation classes or concerts, then we may let you know about this in the future. If you don’t want to be notified about special events, just let us know.

You are very welcome to call or SMS on 0478 366 000 with any questions.

Meditation is not the sole monopoly of any individual. Everybody has the birthright to meditate; and, if we can meditate well, then we establish our oneness with the entire world. Once we have established our oneness with the world, we feel peace. Our whole being, our entire life, is inundated with peace. And once we have peace, we feel that we have everything and we have become everything.
